DZODZE DEZA FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

The Management of Dzodze Shinning Star football club(a second division team)
and Dzodze Deza Central Planning Committe are organising a week long Deza football tournament.
The club is a young, enterprising football club domiciled at Dzodze in the Volta Region of Ghana, West Africa.
The team has a sring of young talented and disciplned players whose aim is to become one of the strongest teams in our country.
Brief on Dzodze Deza festival
The main occupation of the people of Dzodze Traditional Area is farming with the main crops being oil palm, corn, cassava and okro, etc.
Dzodze has been known in the past for its oil palm industry. Indeed the best palm oil (dzomi) was known to be from Dzodze.
Unfortunately however, the situation today is the exact opposite of what it used to be. The worst effect of this situation is the depletion
of forest cover and its attendant low rainfall parttern in the area.
This problem has been recognised by the chiefs and people of Dzodze Traditional Area and in order to turn the tide, they have instituted the
DEZA (OIL PALM FESTIVAL) as a festival to be celebreated annualy in order to revamp the Oil Palm Industry.
The first DEZA (OIL PALM FESTIVAL) was celebrated in the year 2002. This year 2009 is the 8 Edition of the DEZA celebration.
You are hereby invited to join the chiefs and people of Dzodze in the celebration of our rich culture through football from 27 September
to 4 October 2009 at Dzodze, Mite park. The Ground Durbar comess off on Saturday 3rd October 2009 at 10:00 am at Dzodze Lorry Park.
The special Guest of honour is the Vice President H.E. JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA.
